Karthika is an Indian film actress of Malayalam films. She was active in the movie industry from 1985 to 1989. Karthika's debut movie was Manicheppu Thurannappol. Karthika was a well known and popular actress of Malayalam cinema during the 1980s. She was at the peak of her career during the late-80s. She was known for her ability to portray simple and bold characters with ease. She was known to be an unconventional beauty with minimal make up and different style in all her movies. She was introduced into movies by well reputed Malayalam actor and director Balachandra Menon. She was paired with Superstar Mohan Lal the most. Starting her career in 2006 as a child artist, she acted in a Malayalam film Palunku (2006) directed by Blessy, in which she played the daughter of Mammootty's character, and followed it up with the Tamil film Oru Naal Oru Kanavu (2006). She went on to become an anchor on Asianet's music reality television show, Munch Star Singer. Oru Naal Varum (2010) was her next venture, in which she played the role of Dhanya, the daughter of Sreenivasan's character. She also did a supporting role in the movie Pramani. Nazriya was cast in an album titled Yuvvh by Sony Music Entertainment, which became very popular among the youth.
